Reception
Parents should apply to the Local Authority. Admissions Packs are sent to home addresses for all children.
Birmingham Admissions for Reception
We have an admission limit of 60 children. Children come into school in the September of the academic year in which they become five, although it is possible to defer entry until their fifth birthday.
In July, children being admitted to the Reception class who have not been to our nursery are invited with their families to spend a half day in school, getting to know the teachers and becoming familiar with the equipment and surroundings.
In the Autumn Term, children are admitted on a gradual, flexible basis:
a) Mornings only
b) Full-time, but going home at lunch-time.
c) Full-time, and staying in school at lunch-time.
Nursery
Parents should apply directly to the school. The Nursery Class offers 26 Full Time equivalent places. Children start, in groups, in the September of the academic year in which they become four years old. There are opportunities for parents/ guardians to visit the Nursery and meet staff before their child starts. N.B. It is expected that all children are fully toilet trained, and out of nappies before a child can be admitted to the Nursery Class.
NB a place in the nursery does not guarantee a place in the school
Criteria For Admissions
Parents should contact the school office. A waiting list applies if the year group is over 60. Places are allocated in accordance with the Birmingham Education Authority’s criteria for admissions. Please see the Admissions Policy for more details
